Middle College High School @ LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City
Queens is looking for an experienced English teacher and an experienced
Social Studies (Global) teacher for the 9th and 10th grades.
MCHS has been around for over 30 years and is the founding member of the
Middle College National Consortium and also a member of the New York
Performance Assessment Consortium. As a MCNC school, our juniors and
seniors take college classes at LaGuardia. As a Performance Assessment
Consortium school, MCHS students take only the ELA and Math Regents exams
and are assessed primarily through teacher-designed final projects in each
course. Teachers at MCHS are responsible for curriculum design and work on
collaborative interdisciplinary teams, as well as in content departments.
Our population of just under 500 students tends to be below grade level in
terms of skills, but otherwise represents the great diversity of Queens.
