Global Action Project, Inc. (G.A.P.), a youth media organization based in New York City, seeks full & part-time media educators to run our Urban Voices programs. Committed to social justice, our mission is to provide youth with the knowledge, tools & relationships they need to create powerful, thought-provoking media on local & international issues that concern them & to use their media as a catalyst for dialogue & positive social change.

Job Description: G.A.P. is looking for dedicated, experienced & enthusiastic full & part-time educators to run our Urban Voices after-school programs for youth ages 13-21. Program responsibilities include:
• Curriculum development & using our Core Curriculum (a combination of media production & analysis, political education & root cause analysis),
• Co-facilitation of programs guiding youth through a rigorous media production & political education cycle,
• Participate in staff development trainings and meetings
• Documentation & assessment.
**The full-time educator is also required to participate in organizational development and planning, and represent G.A.P. at conferences, screenings, workshops and events.

Qualifications:
• Must demonstrate willingness & an ability to engage with G.A.P’s curriculum & pedagogical approach which connects youth leadership to social justice & movement building along with media analysis & production,
• Strong facilitation & co-facilitation skills and experience in alternative educational methods (popular education),
• Demonstrated commitment to the individual, social & intellectual development of youth,
• Experience with digital video production & a commitment to the aesthetic quality of their work,
• Knowledgeable about local, national & global social issues,
• Some social justice activist experience,
• Strong administrative & time management skills,
• Comfortable in a collaborative, creative work environment with a diverse staff & youth community and a sense of humor greatly appreciated!

Compensation:
P/T: $25/hour P/T Applicants must be able to commit to 3 days/week from 9.08 - 6.09
F/T: Salary is $40,000/year & a benefits package (vacation, sick days, health insurance).
