Science and Math positions: Humanities Prep

Humanities Prep, a successful collaboratively run public high school of 180 students in Manhattan is seeking a science teacher and possibly a math teacher for the coming school year. The following is a brief description of Humanities Prep:

*A community grounded in the Core Values of democracy, justice, peace, intellect, humanity, diversity and truth. Our mission, briefly, is to serve both students who have been historically marginalized from schooling and prepare them for four-year colleges. we have always had a 90-100% college acceptance rate.

*One of the original five Mentor Schools in the Coalition of Essential Schools (see www.ceschangelab.org)

*Member of the NY Standards Consortium offering rigorous inquiry- and performance- based assessment instead of the standardized Regents (see performanceassessment.org)

*Partnered with Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound (see elob.org)
