The Discipline Code and Building School Communitties
F.E.O.T will be kicking off the spring with an exciting discussion about the Discipline Code and reviewing the real-world alternatives to NYC schools popular use of metal detectors, zero-tolerance policies and over policing.
Group members will also discuss how teachers can help create a democratic school that empowers youth and restores dignity and respect for all members of the school community, as well as, how to create clear lines of communication between student body, teachers, administrators and police.
Reading isn’t required to join this group! Bring your experiences, bring your students, bring your friends. We are all in this together!
